CE Marking capabilities

The CE Mark signifies that your product has passed all the testing required by the European Union. European customs organizations monitor for the CE Mark on the packaging of products passing through customs. How do you know which tests to perform for compliance? The first step is to see which “directives” apply to your product. Currently the following directives apply:
Directives that Professional Testing can help with:
| 2004/108/EC
| Electromagnetic compatibility
|
| 2006/95/EC
| Low voltage equipment

Within each "Directive", there are "standards" – and the standards call out the particular tests and levels required, and it all depends on the classification and use of your product. For electronics equipment (like IT Equipment or Test & Measurement equipment), typically the "low voltage directive" and the "EMC Directive" apply. The "Low Voltage Directive" applies to any device powered with at least 60VDC, and the EMC directive applies to devices with electronics and particularly oscillators built in over 15kHz. Our engineering services can quickly and inexpensively help you identify which directives and standards you need to consider, and ultimately develop a test plan to help you pass.
